Life/Moving Update

MOVING... yes you read that right! We are finally about to move!!! After listing our house in January we really had no idea what would happen or if our house would even sell! Well it did, and we got a contract on our house in June. We were supposed to close by July 31 but long story short the inspector found some issues and we weren't exactly sure how much we wanted to fix considering we listed it "AS IS". We came to an agreement and the buyer accepted, then his bank kind of dragged their feet if you ask me. But as your are reading this we are probably in our closing for our new house! And we closed on our house yesterday (Thursday night)! We just found out the closing date on Tuesday!! This is all moving so fast! Needless to say for the next few weeks I will be swallowed up with boxes while I finish packing and then unpacking at our new house!! We will be moving out of our house on Tuesday and into our new one on Wednesday!!! YAY!!! I am so excited for the next chapter and all the new memories we will make in our new house!!

I will be MIA for a few weeks until we get settled into our new house! I might post a few updates from my phone during this time. But I promise as soon as we are settled I will do a new house reveal with pictures!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!!! Anyone available Tuesday to help us move??? BWAHHA!

Happy Movings,

Lyndsay

Birthday Recap

As you all know I celebrated my 25th birthday on August 5! I began celebrating Friday night with dinner at a local steak joint called Columbias with my in-laws, hubby and Mattie. It was a great dinner and very very yummy!

Saturday I was able to have breakfast with my parents while my car was at Toyota, Saturday night we had dinner at another local restaurant called Malones. I had steak again it was soooo good!! Malones is one of my most favorite places to eat!

Sunday I had a workout session with my trainer and then that night we had Mexican for dinner at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.

If you are following along I celebrated 3 birthday dinners before my actual birthday. I know I am spoiled. I don't mean to be but I just can't help it.

Monday my in laws took me to lunch at a restaurant here in town called Addie's. I had the chicken quesadilla! It was soo delicious. My mother in law even brought a candle for me to blow out and they sang happy birthday to me! It was very thoughtful. I am a lucky girl to have married into such a great family. A family who treats me as if I am blood! That is one thing Chris and I both lucked out on. You hear to many horrible in-law stories, but I only have good ones! My Mother in law also baked me a delicious red velvet cake with cream cheese icing!!! Yummy in my tummy!

Monday night I was able to have dinner with some of my family at a restaurant in Lexington! It is always a great day when you are around family. I am thankful for everyone who helped me celebrate my birthday!

And my last birthday  treat was a cake from my boss/friend at the salon I work at!!! That is right.. I got 2 very yummy birthday cakes for my birthday!!! :)

The only thing missing was my baby brother! He is stuck at his Drills for the army so he was unable to celebrate with us. :(

Overall turning 25 as been a fantastic time. I am looking forward to what the next year will bring!

I have a post scheduled for you tomorrow about our update on our moving situation!

Until next time XOXO,
Lyndsay

Mattie is 8 months!

Dear sweet baby girl I can't believe you are already 8 months old. It seems like yesterday we welcomed you into our crazy hectic life! You fit right in to our on the go lifestyle. You amaze me more and more very day. You are crawling and have been since you were about 6 months old, and you are pulling up on everything. You are one determined little girl and will be walking before we know it.  You eat like a champ and love to feed yourself. You have no teeth yet, but you would never know because you will gum and eat anything we give you. You are not wanting to eat as much "baby food" anymore, you would rather have real people food! You are a pro at drinking out of a sippy cup but only one with a straw. Your love for Mickey Mouse is dwindling down and he is not as funny to you as he used to be. Bath time with you can sometimes be a nightmare because you do not want to sit still, and you do not like to be washed off. You just started doing "Patty Cake" on your own, and will be in the middle of crawling and stop and start doing "Patty Cake", you can say "YAY" while raising your hands, "Momma, Dadda, and Bye-Bye" are your favorite words to chatter. Occasionally you will wave bye-bye but its usually after we are gone. You got a new Curious George Monkey and you are in love with him. He is your new favorite toy! You like to give him hugs and cuddle with him. He is nice enough to let you chew on his hands, and tug his ears! You are a Daddy's girl big time and light up anytime he is near you! You never have taken a Paci and it still does not faze you, you only want to chew on it if you have one. Sophie the Giraffe is one of your other favorite toys! She goes everywhere we go! Happy 8 Months sweet baby girl! To many more! Momma and Dadda love you so much!

Lyndsay

6 years! Really?

6 years ago today, a cute little shaved hair guy asked me to be his girlfriend! At the time I had no idea what would happen in our relationship, I knew I really liked this guy but had no idea if he would be the one! 6 years later we are happily married with a brown haired, blue eyed cutie!

In the past 6 years we have been through ups and downs, celebrated happy times, and mourned the loss of loved ones. I never thought I could love someone more and more each day.

Flashback from the past 6 years

Over the past 6 years we have been very fortunate in being able to take numerous trips to different places! I look forward to turning old and gray and wrinkly together, and making many more memories. I am an extremely lucky girl to have such a devoted loving husband.

Reasons why I love my hubby more and more every day:

1) He cooks dinner for us, and he is an AMAZING cook!
2) He helps me clean!
3) He helps me with Mattie!
4) He is one of my biggest cheerleaders!
5) He would drop everything if his Mayme needed him.
6) He listens to me when I am upset.
7) He is a great provider for our family, and works VERY VERY VERY hard!
8) He knows how to fix things and is very handy!
9) He watches Mattie every Saturday so I can work my second job as a hair stylist.
10) He is an amazing father, and would do anything for me and Mattie.

There are plenty more but these are just a few! Happy 6 year anniversary honey, I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, God has been good to our family.

Happy Friday, hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! What are your plans?

XOXO

It's almost Friday!!! Whoo hoo!!!

Happy Thursday! Finally it is almost Friday!!! I am pretty excited about this particular Friday for a few reasons...
1) I am off this Saturday... :) But my Saturday will consist of taking my dogs to the groomers, taking my car to Toyota to be looked at, and packing! Fun right!
2) Tomorrow kicks of my birthday weekend!!! Around here birthdays are celebrated for the whole month, which technically means I can start celebrating today!!! (By around here I really mean my birthday!)

Birthday's are fun and special. I have always been a big believer in celebrating your birthday! Maybe it is all the attention you get, all the free food from restaurants, or maybe it is just knowing that you were able to live one more year! Lately there are too many people I know that have found out that have cancer or another life altering disease. It really makes you stop and think about everything you have to be thankful for. You could be the parent who is in the hospital with a young child who has been battling cancer, or you could be the wife or kids who have just lost their father, but no you were given another chance to celebrate your life and have a clean bill of health. You just never know what is going to happen and you should never take the small things for granted.

In honor of turning 25 I have compiled a list of everything that has happened to me in the past year along with some things I am extremely thankful for.

1) Celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary! I look forward to many more years but we were able to spend this one at the beach! :)

2) Graduating from Cosmetology School, after 2 long years of working full time, and going to school part time until 10:00 every single night the day finally came where I received a diploma for all my hard work!

3) Passing my apprenticeship for Cosmetology!! This test is very stressful, and not to mention I was pretty much 9 months pregnant, and had my baby girl about 2-3 weeks after I took the test!

4) Welcoming my first baby Mattie into the world on December 4, 2012. This was truly a life changing experience and I am very grateful to have had a healthy pregnancy, and an easy delivery. And an even healthier baby girl, who is very determined, strong willed, and smart!!

5) Selling our house!! This was something Chris and I had pondered on for quite some time, we finally decided the time was right to list our house on the market. While I am extremely happy that we finally sold our house and will get to move on to the next chapter in our life, I am also sad as well. This is the first house we lived in as husband and wife, this is the first house we brought our baby girl home to, this is our house that we have made many of memories in. But I am excited to see what the next chapter holds for us!

6) I was able to get a job part time working in a salon.

7) Our family business has continued to grow. Very thankful for this, and the opportunity to be apart of it.

8) We took Mattie on her first trip to Gatlinburg! It was a blast even though she probably will never remember it!

9) Our sweet Mattie celebrated her First Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, St Patricks Day, Easter, and 4th of July!

10) I celebrated my first Mother's Day!

11) My Mom made a career change, and I could not be more happier for her. Its amazing at how much stress was lifted off her shoulders.

12) I started blogging, even though I haven't been great about it. I am really going to try to keep up with it. I probably will not be one of those once a day deals, but hopefully 3-4 times a week!!

13) We were able to pay off some debt!! YAY!!!!

14) I am very thankful that we are able to provide for our little Mattie and enjoy the small things in life. I am thankful our parents taught us the value of money, and what good credit really means! It goes a long way! :)

15) I am thankful that my family is healthy and we are all together and able to enjoy each other's company!

16) Well going along with # 5, when we sold our house we found a new house to move into! Very fortunate to have found a house we like and it in a good school district for Mattie if we decide to send her to public school!

17) My sjogren's symptoms have died down since I became pregnant and had Mattie. It is really nice to not be so thirsty all the time and to have dry eyes. Occasionally I might have a day where my eyes feel dry but not nearly as bad as they were!

18) My sweet little brother was able to purchase his first house at the age of 21! I am so proud of him. It is an adorable house and he has worked hard for it! Along with getting his promotion at his job!! He is top dog, well I think he is anyways because he gets to travel everywhere for his company and even got to fly on the company's private jet!! :)

19) Tomorrow August 2 me and Chris have officially been together for 6 years! 6 years!! Wow, that is a long time!!! Everyday my love for him grows deeper and stronger. To watch him with our daughter makes my heart melt!

20) Chris also lost his Uncle Tommy this past year, he passed away from cancer. It is a very hard thing to lose a person you are close to, but I am thankful that he did not have to suffer anymore.

21) My hubby turned 31, and will be turning the big 32 this year!!

22) I found out I was going to be an aunt for the 2nd time!!! We will be welcoming a sweet niece or nephew this February. I pray that my sister in law as a healthy pregnancy and that a healthy baby will be born! Can not wait to meet him or her! You will have to learn fast to keep up with Ayden and Mattie!

23) We celebrated my nephews 2nd birthday! Hard to believe that little booger is already 2! Seems like yesterday we were waiting on him to pop into this world. He is a little firecracker! Also very thankful that whatever was wrong with him at the beginning of the year is gone. It was very sad and scary to see him suffer when he was so sick. So glad he is a healthy little guy!!

24) My car insurance should lower some more now.. right??

25) I am thankful to be given another year to celebrate my birthday! I am also sad that I am half way to 50. :( Oh well, I am another year older and another year wiser! I am thankful for all the love and support from all my family and friends! I am truly one lucky girl and extremely blessed!!!

Happy Birthday to me!!! Count your blessings!

XOXO

I work out! What?

I know I haven't been very good about keeping up with this blog, but I promise as soon as we move and my life slows down a little bit I will be regular about keeping up with this..

Oh a good note we sold our house and should hopefully be moving in the next couple of weeks!! YAY!!!

Sunday July 28, I began a lifestyle change. It is time to get healthy! I decided to start working out with a personal trainer one time a week. Obviously that is not enough to get fit so I also began to count calories. I have taken some before pictures but I am no ready to share those with the world just yet. But I am going to use this blog to help hold me accountable. I am more motivated now than ever! I have always struggled with my weight and after becoming pregnant and having my sweet baby girl (Who is almost 8 months old by the way! Where has the time gone?) I am probably the biggest I have ever been. Not to mention my body is shaped totally different! I refuse to buy bigger clothes! We are also going to the beach in October so I would like to be smaller by then!  We have 11 weeks until we go to the beach and if you stick with the healthy weight loss I'd be happy with losing an average of 2 lbs a week. or 20 lbs before I go to the beach! That is my goal! As I progress with this journey I will post some measurements and pictures! I know this isn't all going to be easy, and I am sure  I will need some motivation between now and then, but my game face is on!

Yesterday Mattie and I walked from our house to my inlaws house across down. It was almost 2 miles long. I also wore her because my mom had the stroller. Did I mention she weighs about 20 lbs? Shew it was a nice work out!
 After our walk!
 Before our Walk
Before our Walk!

What do you do to stay fit? Any advice or tips?

Happy Tuesday!

Computer Issues

No new layout and design yet, because my brother's computer was having a melt down. Hopefully this weekend we will be able to get together to update my design! But on a good note my brother had us over for dinner at his new house! He did all the cooking and it was fantastic. He even did it big and grilled steak! It was a perfect night for grilling.. We are obsessed with grilling in the summer time.We had a great evening Tuesday night at his house.

Over night my baby has begun to crawl! It makes me so sad to think she is not really a baby anymore. I miss her being so small but am in love with watching her experience new things! I have an awesome video of her crawling but I have to figure out how to post them.

Father's Day is this weekend and I can't wait to post some pictures of the stuff I have made for Chris. It is super cute and I think he is going to really enjoy it! I'll post more on Sunday!

I am thinking of putting together a post for Summer hair care. Summer is a hard time on your hair, and I am sure everyone would like to keep their locks looking fabulous!

In the mean time have a good afternoon, and stay dry! It is a nasty day here in Central Kentucky. Rain Rain and more Rain.

XOXO
